JER Group, Inc.'s teaching faculty hold the Ph.D or Master Level credentials. Many teach at accredited universities and colleges. Our industry practitioner pool have earned Bachelor, Master and Terminal degrees. Some hold valid Certificates from recognized accrediting agencies. We Do Not use teaching assistants as our courses are not delivered via bulletin boards but rather through outcome based Learning Management Systems that faculty members operate in conjunction with their classes. In the recruitment process Dr. John Reid, CEO and President of JER review faculty credentials with an eye on those with prior or current Adult Education online teaching experience. Through careful monitoring of end of course Assessments, JER assures quality control. 

Listed below are some typical faculty bios.

Tess Fragoulis is a fiction writer whose work has been published in numerous magazines, journals and newspapers in North America. She has received various grants and awards for her fiction. Her first book, Stories to Hide from Your Mother, was released in 1997 and nominated for the 1998 QSPELL First Book Award. Her second book, a novel entitled Ariadne's Dream, was published in October 2001, and has been nominated for the IMPAC International Dublin Literary Prize. She is currently conducting research for a novel set in the 20s and 30s. She has studied with internationally acclaimed authors D.M. Thomas and Ann Beattie, and holds and M.A. in English from Concordia University in Montreal, where she teaches creative writing.


Dr. Denzil Edge is an internationally known educator with extensive experience in distance learning and distance learning technologies. He has taught in higher education in Kentucky, Florida, Alaska, Scotland, Germany, and Australia. Dr. Edge has developed more than 80 distance learning courses for television, compressed video and Internet systems. He has taught more than 40 distance learning courses using a variety of distance learning technologies. He pioneered the development of distance learning television and Internet programs in the field of disabilities and teacher education. He was a founding member and currently serves as President of the Kentucky Distance Learning Association (KyDLA). He is a Board Member of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) and serves as Co-Executive Editor of USDLA Publications.


Gloria Pincu founded Basic Learning Systems, Inc. Gloria has facilitated many hundreds of training programs. Gloria is the author of Bull's Eye Business Writing and How to Improve Your Business Reading Skills. She has also designed and conducted training programs on many topics including business and technical writing, advanced reading skills, supervisory skills, interpersonal skills, change management and team building. Gloria holds a B.A. degree in English and an M.A. degree in Education. She is a member of the National Speakers Association, Florida Speakers Association, International Society for Performance Improvement, and The American Society for Training and Development.  Gloria's Weekly Business Writing Tips email goes to over 6700 people around the world. These tips are based on her book, Bull's Eye Business Writing. She recently published Resume Writing for Students and Executives, which includes instructions on creating a resume, worksheets, many examples, and includes Gloria's personal review of the completed resume. 


Diane D'Amico has designed and developed curriculum in such areas as Microsoft applications and the RoboHelp authoring tool. She was responsible for forming a technical writing team to develop the technical reference/configuration manuals and online help projects for administrative software. She continues in that capacity as the lead technical writer and advisor on RoboHelp projects. Diane's most recent work included the development of a WebHelp online Help project encompassing ERP, CRM and portal documentation for both users and administrators for the Web-based applications. Diane is also a member of the Society for Technical Communications.

Barbara I Chick, a Search Engine Marketing Consultant, has owned and operated her business online for the past five years. During this period she has been involved in search engine optimization projects, wrote and marketed four online search engine optimization certification courses. Ms. Chick has been refining and teaching her basic and advanced classes in Web positioning methods to over 1000 webmasters of various types of businesses around the globe. The six-week basic workshop is now translated into six international languages. Her practical, easy, and effective methods get results!

Kenneth T. Rainey, Professor of Humanities and Technical Communication, teaches technical writing, document design, graphics, multimedia, technical writing and editing, and research in technical communication, as well as American literature and drama appreciation. He holds the Ph.D. degree in American literature from The Ohio State University. Dr. Rainey is Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). He won the Outstanding Faculty Award at SPSU in 1992 and 2001. In 2001 he was named SPSU s Teacher of the Year. In the Humanities and Technical Communication Department, he is Coordinator of Student Interns. Dr. Rainey is a member of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing, Conference on College Composition and Communication, Society for Technical Communication, and the National Council of Teachers of English. He is listed in "Who's Who in America," "Who's Who in American Education," and "Who's Who in the South and Southwest."


Marilyn Atherley, Ph.D, is an Educational Consultant born and raised in the Caribbean. As a Consultant she lectures in Early Childhood Education at the local university, tutors in the Masters Program in Education offered in the Caribbean by the University of Sheffield, England, and designs and implements training and professional development workshops for teachers and others in the Caribbean and many other countries. Marilyn s interest in social and emotional learning is reflected in both her teaching and her counseling practice. Her experience is topped off by her years of parenting her two children. As a freelance writer she maximizes the opportunity to share her expertise and knowledge about issues related to parenting, education and human development.


Karen G. Bandy began her research and writing about telecommuting and flexible workplace issues as an analyst at the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment. She also helped to pioneer telework within that agency. She is currently a home-based worker and the owner of Akilah Media, a publishing services firm. Karen's B.A. (Portuguese Language) is from the University of Wisconsin and her M.S. (Telecommunication Policy) is from George Washington University. Her interests include karate, cooking, and herb gardening. She practices and teaches the Transcendental Meditation technique, does community service in urban agriculture education with the Montgomery County Master Gardeners, and serves as an education advocate with the NAACP Parents' Council.


Dr. Anthony Birch has extensive experience in both technology and education. He has worked as a technical writer for high technology fields and as a software salesman of inventory control software. His experience as a teacher includes teaching philosophy at several colleges, and, more recently, training computer networking professionals the fundamentals of Windows in intensive "boot camp" classes. He is a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer in both Windows NT and Windows 2000.


Susan Bilheimer is a highly successful Technical Writer. Among her accomplishments, she has produced Oracle Financials, RoboHELP, and cross-platform WebHELP documentation. Once a struggling freelance writer, she seized the opportunity to blend creative writing with the structure of technical writing, and turned a VERY part-time writing career into an exceptionally lucrative full-time writing profession! Susan wrote "How to Become a Technical Writer" to assist creative writers, as well as those changing careers, or just graduating from college, in how to prepare for the opportunities that abound in this exploding field.


Kitti Craycroft has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and over 20 years professional experience. She is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and has been a successful Independent Legal Nurse Consultant since 1998. She works with numerous attorneys, providing them a wide range of services for various types of medically related litigation. She has served as a mentor for many nurses and taught a variety of continuing education courses. She currently mentors nurses interested in this exciting profession. She is passionate about her profession, loves learning and enjoys teaching.


Dominick L. Flarey, Ph.D., MBA, RN,CS, CNAA, FACHE is certified in nursing administration advanced and as an adult nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Association Credentialing Center. He is a board certified health care executive by the American College of Healthcare Executives, and is a Fellow in the college. He also holds national certification in managed care from the Professional Education Institute. He is a Certified Medical-Legal Consultant.


Robert Flemming is the President of the eMarketing Association Formerly Vice President of Marketing for CA Manufacturing Technology Center, Director of Marketing, American Cancer Society, Director of Advertising for Standard Oil Company, Director of Marketing for Oprical Radiation Corporation.


Born with the same last name as the author of "Black Beauty," Dezra Lehr-Guthrie (formerly, Sewell) received her first writing honors at 10 years old for an essay entitled, "The Trumpeter Swan." Energized by a passion for words, she blossomed into an Honors English student, and later, lead writer-editor of her college's departmental catalogue. It wasn't until after receiving her B.S. in Liberal Studies and taking graduate studies in humanistic psychology, that she pursued getting published. Her first pieces, published through Book World, Inc./Blue Star imprint include: "From the Hearts of Angels," "Little Book of Angels," "The Enchanted Ask & Answer Books by Dezra*" and "Ocean Messages." Today, Dezra Lehr-Guthrie is a seasoned college writing instructor in the Humanities, Community Education, and Small Business Departments, where she shares her passion for writing with students.


Claudia Yalden is the author of three published books. Her latest book Medical Billing The Bottom Line (ISBN 0-7392-0361-4)is widely sold in book stores and on the internet. Claudia, a certified coder, has over 30 years claims processing experience and has provided national seminars to physicians and their staff in several states.


Dr. Welch has been teaching professional writing for over 20 years. He has worked in newspapers, advertising, public relations and is currently chair of the Communication Department at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA. In addition to working with undergraduate and graduate scriptwriters, Dr. Welch has collaborated on a number of feature films and novels.


Mary Sigmann is a professional speaker, organizer and success coach. A member of the National Association of Professional Organizers and the International Coach Federation, she is the author of the book, "Getting Organized Is a Breeze." Services include hands-on organizing assistance, personal coaching, and corporate training.  Her background of over 25 years experience in the fields of education, advertising sales and marketing, have provided the foundation for her business. A graduate of Ohio State University, the Unity School of Religious Studies and Coach University, Ms. Sigmann offers workshops, seminars and training for businesses and organizations nationwide.


Jonathan Price has been consulting for major content providers on the Web for the last six years. With a doctorate from Yale, Jonathan has taught at the undergraduate and graduate level for New York University, the University of Bridgeport, Rutgers, the University of New Mexico, and New Mexico Tech. He has also taught extension classes for Bentley, UC Berkeley, Stanford, and UCSC. He frequently gives workshops and talks at meetings of the Society for Technical Communication, in which he is an Associate Fellow, and a member of the Research committee. He has authored two dozen books for major publishers, including two books on technical writing, an academic study of electronic outlining, and two other books on writing. Most recently, he has co-authored Hot Text: Writing that Works on the Web with his wife Lisa, from New Riders (Pearson). 


Richard (Dick) Petitte brings over 28 years experience in designing and developing education, training and multi-media applications with a strong focus on organizational development and interactive distance learning process solutions. An instructional designer and Emmy award winning multi-media producer/director, Dick brings a unique blend of skills that span from organizational diagnosis to implementation of solutions across a wide range of delivery formats. Currently Dick is a Regional Director with the American Management Association and a past Vice President of Marketing and Program Development. His corporate client list includes the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO), Eastman Kodak Company, General Motors, IBM, New York Power Authority, NASA, Northrup, TWA, Xerox Corporation and the U.S. Departments of Agriculture and Labor. In addition to teaching for Cornell University and Monroe Community College. Dick is Lead Professor in the Bachelors and Masters degree programs in Organizational Management at Roberts Wesleyan College and is past Director of the On-line Bachelors Degree program in Organizational Management.


Doug Payette, is the author of two books entitled, "So, You Want to be a Travel Agent".  He has worked in the travel industry for over 20 years, 6 years with TWA, American Airlines and Continental Airlines, and currently owns The Travel Companion. This unique operation has over 800 home based travel agents. For the past 13 years Doug has run a national Travel Careers Training Program through over 120 Community Colleges. He produces an Educational Catalog of over 63 group trips that his company manages for 60 colleges, adult education programs and foundations.


Jan Noyes, teacher and workshop facilitator, has written a popular, informative manual, "How to Create and Present a Successful Workshop". This manual leads you easily through each step of planning, preparation and presentation. Jan uses her knowledge of teaching, neurolinguistics and accelerated learning to guide you to absolute success. It can be used by anyone, regardless of experience. No matter what the workshop topic, using the proven techniques and suggested daily agenda make it easy to create and present a workshop or seminar with confidence.


Harry Husted is both a freelance writer, computer consultant, and instructor. His writing projects include ghostwriting, copywriting, web site content, DTP, editing, and technical writing. His computer consulting work includes installation, setup, and troubleshooting computer systems. He teaches MS Office, web design, computer repair, and A+. His credits include articles for Internet Day, Internet World, Advertising Today, Advertising Age, L-Advertising, and a host of others. Harry also published a computer repair and copywriting book. 


Rainer Arnold has been in the Manufactured Housing Valuation business for over 10 years and is a graduate of the Lincoln Center and has been certified by the National Society of Appraiser Specialists for more than six years. He has also worked for numerous attorneys dealing with manufactured home bankruptcies as well as training numerous field representatives for Field Services, Inc., a national corporation dealing with manufactured home inspections, his former employer, before coming with The National Manufactured Home Appraisers Society as Vice-President - Standards.Arnold received his BA from Augusta College in Augusta, Georgia and his Master s Degree in Administration from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia. He has also done post graduate studies at West Georgia State College and University in Carrollton, Georgia.

Logan Worely is a Culinary Arts graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Denver, Colorado and Bachelor of Science degree holder from California State University, Chico. Over the past fours years he has cooked in restaurants in the San Francisco Area, New Orleans, Denver and Seattle. In 2001 he became a Certified National Restaurant Association Sanitation Trainer. In his spare time he authors an online column "A Day in the Life of an American Culinary Student" at www.culinarystudents.net.
